Invite Discord bot Runs serverless on Vercel, without an always-on gateway connection.

A Discord bot that brings real-time planetary observations and natural hazard data into chat. Users can run dedicated slash commands (/weather, /earthquakes, /volcanoes, /disasters, /space-weather, /air-quality, /natural-events), right-click any message for an inline fact-check via context menu, or ask open-ended questions (/ask). The bot fetches current data from earth-data-mcp and drafts a short, factual briefing.

The reporting voice follows three rules: select, don’t relay (the five or six most significant events instead of the whole feed), add background (the tectonic setting, normal local values, or what a storm scale means in practice), and stay honest (numbers only from the upstream data, no dramatic superlatives, and severe alerts, casualties or evacuations stated first). Every response includes an in-place [🔄 Refresh] button and direct links to official upstream dashboards.

The bot runs serverless on Vercel as a Discord HTTP-interactions endpoint, so it costs nothing while idle. When an interaction arrives, it verifies the Ed25519 signature, defers the response to stay within Discord’s three-second timeout, queries the MCP server, and generates the briefing with the Vercel AI SDK and an OpenAI model.
