A four-layer Colemak-DH keyboard layout for German ISO keyboards, for Linux and Windows.

keyd AutoHotkey Keyboard layout

My personal keyboard layout: the angle-mod wide ISO variant of Colemak-DH, extended with layers in the spirit of the 3l layout. The base layer is for prose, with the German umlauts on their own keys. Three more layers are reached by holding keys the home position already rests near: # for programming symbols, AltGr for navigation and editing (an inverted-T arrow cluster, word jumps, Home/End, brackets), and Tab for a numpad, function keys, and window and desktop shortcuts. Holding the first two together reaches the third.

The hands never leave the home row, not even for arrows, numbers, or the brackets and operators that code is full of. The layout ships as a keyd configuration for Linux and an AutoHotkey script for Windows, so it behaves the same on both.

It is also what keysatron runs in hardware, and both config formats can be loaded into keymapgen to edit the layout visually.
